Founded in 1989, SunBridge Healthcare Corporation provides healthcare services and long-term care for patients and residents. Effective April 19, 2007, SunBridge completed the successful acquisition of Harborside Healthcare Corporation. As of June 2008, SunBridge and its affiliates provide services in 25 states, operating 212 facilities with approximately 22,986 operating beds.
In SunBridges skilled nursing facilities, patients continue after-hospitalization recovery until they are ready to return home. Called "postacute" or "subacute" care, our services include 24-hour skilled nursing care, wound care, tracheostomy care, IV therapy, rehabilitation therapy and other professional medical care. Patients with more complex medical conditions benefit from intensive treatment in our rehabilitation hospitals. Many SunBridge facilities also provide specialized care for people with Alzheimers disease or other forms of dementia. Our programs are designed to help patients retain their individuality and sense of dignity in a secure, safe environment. For the frail elderly, we offer long-term residential care in comfortable, cheerful nursing homes. We provide healthcare, nutrition services, rehabilitation therapy and stimulating activities. When older adults need help but wish to remain more independent, our assisted living residences combine hospitality and healthcare in private apartments. These residences are designed for people who have healthcare concerns and require assistance with some daily tasks but do not need full-time nursing care. SunBridge facilities also offer respite care for short-term visits. Respite care is useful when family caregivers are temporarily unable to care for their loved ones at home, such as during vacations or business trips. Some SunBridge facilities provide specialized psychiatric care and behavioral health services for adolescents, young adults, and geriatric patients in settings appropriate to each population. We help these residents return to their communities in the least restrictive environments possible. For more information about SunBridge facilities, please contact us. |
